Walt Disney World Guidebooks:

Disneyland Guidebooks:
Helpful tips for planning a visit to the Disney parks:
  • Get a current guidebook as soon as you know you might be visiting any of the Disney
parks. Even if you've been to Disney before, the worlds are always changing so it is a
good idea to get the latest edition of a guidebook. Birnbaum's Guide to Walt Disney
World or The Unofficial Guide To Disneyland are two great book choices. The Walt
Disney Company maintains many  websites that provide everything you need to plan your
    Disney vacation. Start at Disney.com

  • Make reservations for popular shows and character meals well in advance of your arrival
to Disney World in Orlando, FL. The Hoop Dee Doo Revue and dining with Cinderella at
the castle are two extremely popular events. Some reservations can be made up to 180
days in advance. Check your guidebook or the Disney World website for current
advance reservations rules and advice or call 1-407-WDW-DINE.
TIP: You can usually save money by purchasing your park tickets in advance

  • Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL and Disneyland in Anaheim, CA are two very
different resorts. Disney World is much bigger than Disneyland and requires much more
planning. Because Disneyland consists of only two parks, Disneyland and Disney's
California Adventure Theme Park, a three or four day visit would enable you to thoroughly
tour both parks. You would even have enough time to re-visit your favorite attractions and
maybe spend time at your hotel pool.

  • Walt Disney World, on the other hand, consists of so many more parks, attractions,
recreational activities, restaurants, and shopping venues, that even if you could squeeze
everything in a few days, you would be completely exhausted. Even those who have been
to Disney World several times (for a week to ten days each visit), have not seen or done
everything there is to see and do. Currently there are four major parks: Magic Kingdom,
Epcot, Disney (MGM) Studios, and Animal Kingdom so you will need to budget at least a
day for each park. If you still have time, there are also three large themed water parks
and Downtown Disney which boasts a diverse array of nightclubs, restaurants, a huge
movie complex, and loads of shopping. As if that were not enough, there are also many
recreational activities available throughout "the World" including golf, fishing, sailing,
horseback riding, and water skiing. The parks even offer "behind the scenes" tours
lasting from two to seven hours each. Recent tours included: Hidden Treasures,
Gardens of the World, and Backstage Magic. Reservations are usually necessary so
    remember to plan ahead.

  • Utilize the many online resources. You can book Disney World Resort hotels and flights
reservations with the Walt Disney World Travel Company-   (407) 939-7806.
Disneyland hotel reservations can be made by calling (714) 520-5045 or for
Disneyland package reservations call (714) 520-5060.  Check your guidebook or the
Disney.com website for the current telephone numbers and reservations procedures for
    both Disney World & Disneyland.

It is always the perfect time for a Disney vacation!
  • Children, naturally, are drawn to the fairy tale lands and fascinating characters
that make up the Disney theme parks.
  • Adults easily leave their everyday stresses behind the moment they step foot
on the Magic Kingdom's Main Street.
  • Teens rediscover the "child" within themselves and may be surprised to find
many thrilling attractions that are not for "little kids" like "Tower of Terror",
"Rockin' Roller Coaster", and "Fast Track".
  • Senior Adults will be thoroughly entertained by the multitude of theatrical and
musical spectacles. They will be surprised by the number of attractions in
which they will actually want to participate and they will be amazed by the vast
    variety of good restaurants.
